Julie Dunn presents an unusual and refreshing style of painting known as Tempera Batik painting on paper. Her unique work is characterized by the vibrant use of color and an appealing textural surface, beautifully combined with compelling imagery. Admirers of her paintings find them reminiscent of traditional fabric batiks and woodblock prints.

Her subjects include Central Coast landscapes, endangered species, and exotic flowers. With a BA degree in drawing and painting, and a teaching credential in Art Education, Julie’s art career has spanned over 25 years, and she now enjoys painting, exhibiting, co-owning The Gallery at the Network, and giving demonstrations and workshops in her specialized technique.

She is a member of S.L.O.P.E. (San Luis Outdoor Painters of the Environment), which raises awareness of natural environmental resources.
