As an artist, I am inspired by the interplay between colors, the contrast between transparent and opaque elements, and the idea of functional art. My artwork is modern in design, often whimsical, and typically employs bold geometric shapes.
I took classes in art throughout high school and college as I earned degrees in math, psychology, and finally a Master’s degree in computer science. This well rounded, but left-brain leaning education is reflected in my artistic design. I get a lot of pleasure from creating artwork that is asymmetrical, but balanced in terms of color and form.
I start every piece of work by laying out scraps of glass in various colors, exchanging one shade for another, until I find a color combination that speaks to my mood with a satisfying juxtaposition of colors and shapes.
The process of creating art is the most satisfying thing I can imagine.
