Rich, a retired Radiologist who has been studying Art, Artglass, and glass since 1998, has been teaching a Cal Poly Summer Glass Class since 2004. He has also given lectures on glass to many groups. Rich has a lifelong love of Artglass. He works with torches and kilns to produce Beads, Fused Glass and Cast Glass pieces and also uses metal. He sometimes combines techniques in his work. He often collaborates with his wife, Kersti, in making a piece, especially beautiful jewelry. Many pieces are functional such as plates, bowls, vases, and hanging mirrors with a large variety of colors and designs that people can enjoy looking at and using daily. Recently, he has been experimenting with Photo etching to produce elaborate detailed designs on his glass art.
